Sunday School Kickoff - click here for pictures
The 2006-2007 Sunday School year started with flags flying and whistles blowing as we held the football-themed "Sunday School Kickoff" in our church's Fellowship Hall. Parents and students were in attendance for registration for the new school year, and then it was time for a short devotion from Pastor, snacks, and fun activities for the kids. While the younger kids next headed to school to check out their classrooms and do some craft projects, the 3rd - 8th graders split into teams and challenged each other and a team of parents to "Football Bible Trivia", complete with a whistle-blowing, flag-throwing referee!

Camp Phillip Scrapbooking Retreat October 6-8
Five Immanuel women had a great time at a Camp Philip scrapbooking retreat on October 6-8. They enjoyed many hours of scrapbooking in the company of about 30 other WELS women from around the state. They also were uplifted by a Bible study and Sunday morning service led by Pastor Tom Klusmeyer, and a Saturday night campfire where they learned some fun praise songs. It was an experience they would love to repeat in the future!

Tot Time Red Arrow Park outing--8/9/06
On August 9, 2006, eleven parents and children had a fun morning at Red Arrow Park. After digging in the sand and basking in the sun for awhile, everyone enjoyed a picnic lunch together.

Tot Time Ponderosa and Schuette Park outing--5/10/06
On May 10th, 2006, Ponderosa was taken by storm when seventeen adults and children from our Tot Time group enjoyed lunch and fellowship time. Afterwards, it was time to play and burn off some energy with a visit to the Schuette Park community playground.

Tot Time Costume Party--11/1/06
On November 1, nine little ones had a great time at the Tot Time costume party. After having a "parade" through some of the school classrooms to show off their costumes, they enjoyed a book called The Pumpkin Gospel and decorated their own paper pumpkin faces. After some fun playtime together, they finished the party up with some Halloween snacks.

Annual Chili Taste/Packer Game--11/12/06
On November 12, a group of Immanuel members enjoyed fellowship over some delicious chili and some good-natured rivalry while watching the Packers vs. Vikings game on the big screen in the church fellowship hall. Though all the pots of chili were delicious, a winner for bringing the best chili was declared by a vote, and the chef went home with the traveling wooden spoon award. MOST of those in attendance were pleased by the outcome of the game (sorry, Vikings fans!).

Wizard's Kingdom outing--12/1/06
On December 1, seven children with their parents had a great time playing games and burning off some energy at Wizard's Kingdom.

Fellowship Game Night--2/27/07
Several Immanuel families had a great time enjoying food and games in the fellowship hall. There were quite a few energetic little boys there, so not many adults got to play games, but it was fun teaching them how to play games like "Topple" and "Junior Life".

Easter Celebration--4/6/07
Children and their caregivers celebrated the joy of Easter together with special activities. After some playtime, they heard a story of why Christians celebrate Easter (Jesus rose from the dead and gave us new life!). The children then enjoyed an egg hunt in the fellowship hall.
