A Note from Mr. Roecker
Think back through your life to all of the plans you made for yourself. In grade school you thought you were going to be the president, a professional athlete, or even a superhero. In high school things became more real and plans for the future were necessary. You needed to take the right courses to prepare you for your future. That may have included shop class, art classes, or college prep classes. If you entered a field of work or if you continued on to college it was pretty clear where you were headed.

If you were like me, your plans did not always come true. Things changed as you grew up. The future really is still up in the air for all of us. That can be a little nerve racking. There is comfort to be found! We have the sure knowledge that God is in complete control. In fact he plans our very steps through life. We read in Proverbs 16:9, “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” Certainly as our third and fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Karen Kehl, battles cancer, these words bring her comfort. She is confident that the Lord is in control. We continue to pray for her and her family during this challenging time in their lives.

We have also seen the Lord’s plan for our school as two very capable and dedicated long-term substitutes have been hired to fill Mrs. Kehl’s position for the remainder of the school year. Mrs. Elizabeth Geissler and Mrs. Betsy Nikolai are team teaching in the third and fourth grade classroom. Both bring experience and energy to our school and staff. We thank God for having teachers like these available to continue to share God’s Word as well as the academics with our students.

While we may have plans for our future in our lives and at our school, we know that God is the one who determines our steps. We place all things in his care and trust that he will make all things work out for our good. Please continue to keep Mrs. Kehl and our school in your prayers. When we remain in Jesus, he promises to bless us.
